Barbs and Demon Hunters are what comes to mind when thinking about speed.

Your class will also come into play for speed. They will join so that are increased GR keys, more death breaths, and overall loot. People in group runs are optimized for speed farming. From there, it just becomes finding/crafting a better weapon and make use with what you have and farm GRs efficiently (Under 3 minute runs) and when you run normal rifts, pick up Death Breaths, Legendaries, and Gems and leave the rest behind. Once you have a completed set, or your seasonal set, you should be able to do Torment X (from my experience). Gems that reduce cooldown reduction, or increase survivability, etc. Having a Ring of Royal Grandeur (RoR) in your cube so you can run 2 different sets of gear. Critical Hit Chance (CHC), Critical Hit Damage (CHD) on your gloves. If you have the right gear, the stats on those gear may not be optimized.Įx.

Right now the easiest class to start with with the Gift is probably Barbarian - the set is very powerful and pretty easy to play. Some classes have a better gear set from Haedrig's Gift than others - which set comes from the gift changes each season but it's the same for everyone each season. As soon as you assemble the full 6 piece set that will instantly power up your character to at least GR40-50 easily. It comes in 3 different rewards (gifts) which each give 2 set pieces. You can only get it once per account, once per season. It's a reward you get for doing seasonal achievements.

If you're playing on Seasonal, an easy way to get a gear set at first, as others have said, is shoot for Haedrig's Gift. Paragon levels are more of a cherry on top, finishing touches sort of thing that will make the difference after you've gotten all you can get for gear. These gear sets are way more impactful to how effective you are than your paragon levels and stuff - at least at the early GR's. Paying attention to your gear and getting a set together is very important. When you wear gear from the same set, you get bonuses - stuff like "X skill does 20,000% more damage" which is not an exaggeration. The reason you're seeing similar stats on their characters even though they're ripping through stuff you struggle with is probably because they have gear sets, which for the most part don't factor in to the stat numbers in the character screen.
